One day while the class was in creating a project, the Prof noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept struggling with the assignment.

The young man looked at the professor and asked a strange question…

He asked: “Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. “You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground.

The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.

When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn .

They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.”

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in online marketing . The gurus will keep pushing  free corn out in the form of new programs, the next best thing, , training, no obligation, follow us, brainwashing (they won’t use those words, but that’s what they do), etc. All the while slowly building the fence until they have trapped you into doing things their way… for them.

One should always remember two truths: 1) There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone (probably you!) is paying for it. 2) and when you begin to think that having program owners provide for you and make your decisions is ok, realize that you’ve also given up the freedom that goes with making your own choices and owning your own business.

If you see that all of this wonderful ’help’ as a problem confronting the future of internet marketing , you might want to inform your friends. Be the fence maker and create your own online success.

If you think a “free ride” is essential to your way of life, then you will probably ignore this blog post. But God help your marketing career when the gate slams shut!

Free corn is great, but your goal should not be to become comfortable being the wild pig, but to gain knowledge and resources so you can become the fence maker!

Joseph and Abra Riley became fellow TE Owners with an exchange named Forever Concepts The whole idea behind the site was to give a percentage of the profits to Kiva an organization that helpsempower people around the world to be entrepreneurs.

They helped to raise several thousands of dollars!

While taking a vacationing from their Australian Homeland, Joseph became ill in Sacremento, CA. After a few weeks in the hospital, Josephs condition did not improve. Joseph passed away on the 12th of October. Abra is now stranded in Sacramento, unable to get her and Joseph back to Australia.

We have been busting our butts..4 of us donated $1.00 per head count and one $.025 our highest head count was 146 People. We have raised close to $2000.00. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favorite rooster, Obama, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed Obama’s bell hadn’t rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To John’s amazement, Obama had thought of a way to do it without work, he had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of Obama, he entered him in the Chicago County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded Obama the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Clearly Obama was a politician!

Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.

Vote carefully next fall, the bells are not always audible.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I’ve tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn’t suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word ‘refrigeration’ mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ‘ Jeopardy ‘ on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , ‘How about going to lunch in a half hour?’ She would gas up and stammer, ‘I can’t. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain’ And my personal favorite: ‘It’s Monday.’ She died a few days ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because we cram so much into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We’ll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We’ll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We’ll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of ‘I’m going to,’ ‘I plan on,’ and ‘Someday, when things are settled down a bit.’

When anyone calls my ‘seize the moment’ friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you’re ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It’s just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now….go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to…not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? I had a friend from high school that I was always going to call and never did. The other day her name was in the obituaries so we never had that chat.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask, ‘How are you?’ Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, ‘We’ll do it tomorrow.’ and in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say ‘Hi’?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift….Thrown away…. Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

Personal relationships are in. Gone are the “show” or “stage” shows once practiced. They are too gimmicky in these pragmatic times. Personal relationships show customers, clients, and guests that companies are authentic and genuine. This is extremely important online, as you have only your personality and design of your website to rely on. Online marketers need to supply uncharacteristic support and do so with a caring attitude.

There are those that are embracing these new realities… both on and offline. It will be these companies and individuals that will grow and prosper in this unpredictable time of reconfiguring the way we do business. Then there are those still trying to do what worked for them 9 months ago, and wondering why things aren’t working. They are either becoming very frustrated as they pedal backwards, not willing to accept the winds of change.

There are new realities in internet marketing and advertising. Grasp the bull by the horn and be bold and brilliant in your quest to be successful. Get a support desk, and be proactive in utilizing it. Communicate with members, guests, clients, and customers through timely support. Utilize social marketing. One of the best ways to instill confidence and trust in you and your product is to be seen in the social realm and circles. There are literally hundreds of them out there… choose a few that are generic, and a few that are specific for your niche. Be known as the go to guy/gal in your niche or industry. You will find greater success by treating your members, clients, customers and guests like you yourself like to be treated… with respect, dignity and as a fellow human being.

I realized that we were on to something… networked exchanges via the chat module. Randy and I did some brainstorming and decided we needed to enhance the community and create a separate site where members could go and network even more. In comes KRAVE.biz the first community linked via multiple websites using the same surf chat module. KRAVE is growing well, and there are now several exchanges linked together. I believe it will further grow as more and more members realize the networking capabilities it represents.
