I am a country boy at heart, but currently live in the Atlanta, Georgia metro area. My wife and I recently moved here for her to continue her career as a Special Education teacher. The area creates several opportunities to create websites for local business’s. So, I am looking forward to a new era in my internet marketing career. I started online in the late 90′s with a site I created to sell merchandise online. Modern Gift Market sold slate clocks and plaques, which I bought at wholesale from a company in Louisiana. They were hand painted and quite unique. The site was successful, and even lead to setting up a store front. The line expanded to fancy flags, mailbox covers, and lawn ornaments.

As you can imagine it was a lot of work. Carrying inventory, shipping, etc. The company that I was purchasing the slate pieces, sold out and I was not pleased with the new owners. So, I stopped selling their products, and Modern Gift Market now stands idle.

In the process of running an online store, I did learn a lot about internet marketing and advertising. It’s a bit different than offline, so the learning curve was extensive. It was after Modern Gift Market went idle, that I started creating websites for others, and selling advertising opportunities to other internet marketers and advertisers.
